Base Torres Hike (Winter)
Experience one of the most iconic hikes in Chilean Patagonia with this full-day excursion to Base Torres, located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. Departing from Puerto Natales, you will travel to the park to begin a challenging yet unforgettable trek through mountains, lenga forests, and breathtaking Patagonian landscapes.
The trail follows the Ascencio Valley and passes through the Refugio El Chileno area before continuing through ancient forests toward the final ascent to the Base Torres viewpoint. From there, you will enjoy spectacular views of the famous granite towers, Mount Almirante Nieto, and the stunning natural surroundings that make Torres del Paine one of the world’s top trekking destinations.
Accompanied by a certified bilingual guide, you will receive support throughout the hike, along with safety guidance and insights into the park’s natural environment. This experience is ideal for travelers with good physical fitness looking to experience the essence of Patagonia in a single day.
Day by day itinerary
Day 1 — Day 1
6:00 – 6:45 am
Your transportation will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Natales. From there, you will head towards Torres del Paine National Park, located approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Puerto Natales.
8:45 – 9:00 am
After around 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at Hotel Las Torres, where our excursion begins. Your guide will provide a safety briefing before we start hiking along the trail toward an old bridge crossing the Asencio River.
1:00 pm
We will arrive at the Base Torres viewpoint, where you will enjoy a spectacular view of the three iconic towers. Here, we will take time to rest, have lunch, and recover energy while admiring the scenery.
2:00 pm
We will begin the descent along the same trail, returning to our transportation waiting at the same point where the hike started.
9:00 – 9:30 pm
Approximate return to your accommodation in Puerto Natales.
